orion.

Explore the sky your way.

You can use Orion without phone motion controls or the visual sky canvas.

Text and keyboard access

Open Object list from the map to browse names, altitude, and direction. Filters let you show planets, bright stars, or only objects above the horizon. Select a result for more details. Tab moves between controls; Enter or Space activates buttons; Escape closes dialogs.

Map controls

Focus the map with the keyboard, then use arrow keys to look around and + or − to zoom. The skip links at the start of the page lead to the map or object list. Visible focus outlines indicate the active control.

Motion and display preferences

Reduced-motion preferences remove animated camera easing. Phone tracking is opt-in and can be paused. Red night mode is available in display settings; switch it off if the tint makes text harder to distinguish.

Current limitations

The visual map is not described star by star to screen readers. Use the object list and observing reports for text equivalents. Physical iPhone and Samsung testing is still needed for sensor behavior and assistive technology. We do not claim a completed accessibility conformance audit.
